Description and Requirements

The Product Release Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of product releases through the WCG Product Development Lifecycle. This position works with technology and business organizations to coordinate and communicate release details across the WCG Medavante-Prophase technology product line. In addition, the Product Release Manager plays a critical role in managing and advising senior management on capacity constraints and production lead times for product releases. This position will require critical thinking, technology planning skills and decision-making, consistency and professionalism, and the can-do drive required to succeed in a high-pressure environment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure oversight and management of our release planning strategy as well as the implementation of governance.

  • Create and maintain the detailed product release schedules on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Partner with the business development, operations, product management and development/test teams and other key employees/cross-functional teams to align daily, weekly, and monthly product delivery needs.

  • Develop efficient, accurate, and timely communication of product release schedule adjustments.

  • Notify relevant parties of upcoming schedule/product constraints, risks, options, and work with the relevant parties to develop tactical actions to keep operations on schedule.

  • Implement best practice supply and flow processes with product teams.

  • Develop continuous improvement opportunities relative to the product scheduling process and leads those improvements through to execution.

  • Monitor adherence to production schedules, set priorities, and communicate schedules to internal product councils.

  • Identify variances against plan to senior management.

  • Coordinate medium to short-term strategy to maintain tactical enhancements through the creation of a plan or master product roadmap schedule.

  • Conduct regular priority meetings to keep management apprised of critical product and demand issues.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree Information Technology, or Business preferred or a combination of education and relevant experience

Certification / License

  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant, progressive product planning/scheduling or operations management in a technology delivery environment

  • Ability to effectively build relationships and influence others to achieve goals and project objectives

  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail to maintain the integrity and accuracy of large amounts of data and put them into a release schedule

  • Must have excellent orientation to detail and organizational and time management skills

  • Sound knowledge of working in a validated environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents

  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
