JOB SUMMARY:  The Research Assistant provides project coordination and support for projects at Stat Collab, typically for more than one project at a time. The Research Associate’s general style of work, sense of ownership, and ability to complete jobs thoroughly allow senior staff to delegate to the Research Associate responsibility for some of the non-statistical aspects of a project. Although Research Associates work under the direct supervision of Project Managers (PMs), they work independently on a day-to-day basis.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

·       B.A. or equivalent degree.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to juggle several complex projects simultaneously and work with several different project teams.
  • Take initiative and have a strong sense of ownership in one’s work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Contributing to report writing.
  • Edit reports to assure consistency between presentations and text.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of a project under the supervision of the Project Manager (e.g., scheduling and coordinating project team meetings, informing team members of project timelines, and ensuring deadlines are met).
  • Communicate with DMC members and clients with minimal PM review.
  • Coordinate conference calls and meetings with clients and DMCs with minimal PM review.
  • Draft accurate and well-constructed minutes of client and DMC meetings.
  • Show an understanding of project budgets; monitoring and updating budget spreadsheets.
  • Train or mentor junior staff on basic Research Assistant duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
