JOB SUMMARY:  The Senior Director Biostatistics will provide oversight on multiple complicated projects. This position will collaborate and work effectively with the project team and will have direct supervision over lower-level Biostatisticians.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: M.S. or equivalent degree in statistics, or related field, PhD preferred

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: At least ten years of post-Master’s industry experience in clinical trials

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Focuses on more complicated projects and client relationships
  • Assumes major responsibilities for clients and for the client’s projects. A Senior Director of Biostatistics determines the level of staffing required for the project and manages both its statistical and financial aspects.
  • A member of professional societies, attends meetings of these societies, and presents papers or posters at least every other year.
  • May serve as a peer reviewer of scientific manuscripts and proposals.
  • Remain abreast of current advances in biostatistics.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management and evaluation of an assigned team.  Such responsibilities may include training; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance appraisals; and addressing/resolving complaints and issues.
