JOB SUMMARY: The Client Development Manager is primarily responsible for identifying, targeting, and recruiting clients for the Avoca Quality Consortium in addition to Avoca’s consulting services and platforms. This position provides leadership in generating client leads and helping to promote healthy client relationships. This role must proactively seek to understand client needs and effectively communicate the value of Avoca’s services to diverse client segments and decision makers in the Life Sciences industry. An entrepreneurial nature, innate resourcefulness, and strong sales and relationship management skills are important qualities for this role.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

·       Bachelor’s degree

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a business development role consulting with clients on B2B service offerings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across formal and informal situations
  • A good understanding of the clinical trials industry and key players, including the role of outsourcing in the bio-pharmaceutical sector
  • Strong sales skills including: lead generation, lead development, proposal development, conducting product demos, opportunity tracking and reporting, and sales forecasting
  • Experience and ease of use with presenting and reporting using Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficiency with CRM software
  • Proven ability to engage clients, effectively manage accounts, and network across company types, sizes and roles
  • Fluent in the use of social media for networking and outreach

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Identify and implement creative ways to attract new clients and promote pull-through business from current clients
  • Hold demos with prospective clients to present on the value and work product of the AQC
  • Utilize strong understanding of customer needs and requirements to recommend optimal service offerings
  • Conduct research and identify a strong pipeline of clients
  • Prepare proposals for prospective clients
  • Participate in industry conferences to promote brand recognition and prospect gathering as requested
  • Identify primary points of contact and gather contact information for prospective clients; conduct prospect outreach through email campaigns, social media, and other tools provided by Avoca; and hold face-to-face meetings with existing and prospective clients
  • Effectively collaborate with Member Engagement, Marketing, Client Delivery, and other WCG and Avoca colleagues to realize company goals and member recruitment targets, and complete other tasks as assigned
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely with a team in a virtual environment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork, establishing effective working relationships and building trust with customers and stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Ability to think creatively, drive results, adapt to project needs, and be quick-footed and flexible in handling ambiguity and change
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
