Description and Requirements

We are searching for a biostatistician to join out team!  Our biostatisticians are responsible to collaborate with external clients on studies involving new drugs, biologics, devices, and vaccines, as well as behavioral interventions across a range of disease areas.  A Biostatistician I, working under the direct supervision of a more experienced statistician, performs assigned tasks related both to statistical analyses and statistical programming.  This is an entry-level position with opportunity for growth.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing data, including writing code using SAS or other statistical programs.

  • Preparing graphs, tables, and listings with in-house macros when appropriate.

  • Creating and auditing analysis programs.

  • Perform biostatistical analyses under the supervision of more senior staff.

  • Calculating sample sizes for clinical studies with standard designs.

  • Prepare randomization lists.

  • Programming analysis datasets with guidance from the Project Manager.

  • Assisting with writing analysis plans.

  • Contributing to IDMC reports under the supervision of more senior staff.

  • Draft minutes and summaries of meetings.

  • Present Statistically Speaking seminars to staff.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics, or Master’s degree or Ph.D. in epidemiology with considerable coursework in Biostatistics


  • Knowledge of applied statistical methodologies

  • At least 1 year of programming experience in SAS, R, or Stata

  • Knowledge of base SAS, SAS macro language, SAS graphics, and SAS/STAT

  • Experience using SAS or other statistical software to report results of clinical trials or other type of studies is strong preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to juggle several complex projects simultaneously

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word® and other MS Office® applications is helpful.
