Description and Requirements

The Clinical Assessment Specialist provides clinical training and consultation on standardized administration methods and guidelines of clinical assessments to VeraSci staff members and clinical raters in clinical trials. Reviews clinical assessments for scoring accuracy and adherence to standardized scoring conventions to assist in updating and development of clinical assessment training programs. Assist in clinical assessment and procedural decision making. Act as a liaison between certified clinical raters and VeraSci staff members.

  • Answers clinical assessment questions from any Sponsor, Contract Research Organization (CRO) and VeraSci staff members regarding trial specific clinical measures.
  • Works with other clinical assessment specialists/experts to do evaluations and consultations or obtain feedback.
  • Communicates with certified clinical raters for feedback regarding to clinical assessment and clinical trial procedures.
  • Follows up on previous clinical assessment data review feedback, which may require additional information or updating.
  • Ensures that all clinical assessment processes and procedures are documented with accuracy.
  • Ensures clinical details involving feedback from certified clinical rater(s) are documented and stored.
  • Attends meetings to help determine which incidents require discussion/notification to the sponsor, CRO, and/or affiliated groups.
  • Liaison between the certified clinical raters and VeraSci.
  • Conducts assessment testing to ascertain the skill level and ability of those individuals being trained, and develop training curriculums and programs to improve knowledge, skill, and ability.
  • Conducts ongoing staff training and provides clinical feedback to resolve sponsor related concerns.
  • Implements and assists in the release of new data review procedures, including educating the data monitor(s) on the new features and benefits of the changes implemented.
  • Provides information on new guidelines, clinical tools, procedures and changes in the mental health and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as needed.


Supervised by the Vice President of Clinical Assessment


  • 2 years’ experience with administering clinical assessments- specifically PANSS and SCoRS. 
  • Master's Degree in Psychology or related field.
