Corporate Development Summer Associate (Princeton, NJ) – Full-time

Position Summary:

 The role of the Corporate Development Summer Associate represents a unique opportunity for a highly motivated, success-driven professional seeking to promote their career development in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity investments, and corporate strategy for a transformational and industry-leading company. The successful candidate will work with members of the C-suite team and private equity investors that is comprised of seasoned business professionals and will be exposed to many of the top business and scientific leaders in the healthcare and life sciences industry. The Corporate Development Summer Associate will work with the Executive team to develop M&A strategy, select and evaluate acquisition targets, facilitate due diligence activities, and execute transactions, among other responsibilities. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Corporate Development in our Princeton, NJ Corporate headquarters. This position will be highly visible among senior management, the board of directors, and key investors.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Support process of selecting and evaluating prospective M&A candidates and 
    strategic partners
  •  Manage due diligence activities 
  • Support the execution of M&A and strategic partnership transactions 
  • Conduct analyses of market data and industry information, keeping abreast of 
    industry news, recent transactions, and market dynamics 
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required 

Education Requirements: 

  • The ideal candidate has prior experience (or as completed coursework) in  Finance, 
    Economics, Accounting, or an equivalent field.  
  • Preference will be given to MBA or JD candidates with prior experience in mergers & acquisitions, transaction law, sell-side 
    equity research, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or other 
    related fields. 

Qualifications/Experience Requirements

  • Candidate must have strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.  
  • Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures as well as 
    effective verbal and written communication skills are required. 
  • Must be able to influence decisions through clear, data-driven analysis and cogent 
  • Must have the ability to work independently, receiving minimal instruction on routine 
    work, and general instruction on new assignments. 
  • Quick learner who is self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and *going the 
    extra mile.
  • Able to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment and adaptive to 
  • Ability and comfort with presenting financial information to groups. 
  • Basic Corporate Finance and Accounting knowledge is expected, as well as effective 
    organization, planning and interpersonal skills.
