Description and Requirements

Reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards, the Director of Executive Compensation will assume leadership and accountability for the executive compensation function at WCG.  The Director serves as the subject matter expert and thought leader in the executive compensation space – helping set the strategic direction for and design of executive compensation programs and processes.  The Director will lead and oversee the design, implementation, administration and communication of the Company's executive compensation plans, policies, and programs to ensure alignment with business strategy and external competitiveness.

The Director will partner with the VP, Total Rewards, to design and deliver all responsibilities related to executive compensation, including preparation of Board Compensation Committee material, administration of equity compensation plans and execution of other corporate governance related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare materials for leadership and Board Compensation Committee meetings in partnership with the VP of Total Rewards, Compensation Committee consultant and SVP of Human Capital Management.
  • Manage survey participation for the executive leadership roles.
  • Work with employment general counsel to ensure that the executive compensation programs are legally compliant.
  • Manage company’s equity compensation plans, including equity approval protocols, documentation, and implementation a process for review and approval of grant awards.
  • Manage relationship with stock plan administrator and oversee all related activities, including administration and required reporting.
  • Manage the preparation and/or updating of executive compensation plan design materials.
  • Serve as the Company’s primary point of contact for external stock administrator.
  • Assess and manage all elements of deferred compensation which include equity-based, deferred cash and other performance plans across the company.
  • Serves as internal consultant to the HR team on executive compensation matters and ensures compliance with established Corporate Governance.
  • Monitors trends and regulatory developments in the external market that may impact the Company's executive compensation programs.
  • Alongside the Vice President of Compensation, Benefits and HRIS, support various project initiatives through the creation of dynamic models to assess the potential impact of future design decisions.
  • Partners with HR team to validate executive benchmarking activities and executive salary range validation on an as needed basis.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is required. MBA or other graduate degree in a related field is strongly preferred.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR, finance, or legal experience with at least 5+ years of direct executive compensation experience
  • Knowledge of SEC and proxy advisory policies and practices
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with a high degree of business acumen
  • Must be detail-oriented with demonstrated project management capabilities and excellent prioritization skills.
  • Expert Microsoft excel skills (pivot tables, advanced analysis features)
  • Strong presentation skills, especially with senior leaders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
