Description and Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: As a strategic partner, the Director, HCM is responsible for both the strategic direction and management of human resources activities and processes aligned to the business objectives for their assigned internal client groups. This position will play a critical, strategic role on the Human Capital Management Team by providing thought leadership and direction regarding the design, execution and measurement of people / talent capability planning and development and optimization of HCM programs and solutions to assigned internal client groups. This role will serve as the primary focal point for delivering HCM programs and solutions to the internal client groups.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HCM experience, including prior experience as primary HCM support for business unit or shared service function preferred.
  • Must have experience with the design, development, and execution of HCM strategies, and programs that support organizational growth.
  • Strong consultative, presentation, analytical and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to visualize and effectively convey a “big picture" view of strategic HCM and how it fits with business strategies.
  • Must be able to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, work with interruptions, work in stressful situations, and shift priorities of work as needed.
  • Ability to pivot between strategic and tactical work to meet the needs of the business.
  • Must be able to plan and organize work effectively to meet established guidelines.
  • Must have advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess strong skills with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce a plus) and HRIS reporting.
  • Possess current knowledge of legislation and regulations that will impact the effective implementation of WCG’s HCM policies and practices.
  • Ability to work with close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Provide top-quality coaching, customer service, and solutions in all areas of HCM, including employee relations, talent management, rewards, and leadership training.
  • Ensure a high-quality outcome and positive service offering for the managers, employees, and HR organizations of the company. Advise the company management in personnel policy and program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions.
  • Provide day to day consultation, leadership, and quality control to management team regarding human resource practices, interpretation of company policy and problem resolution ensuring compliance with federal and state law.
  • Proactively work as an integral part of the management team in strategy planning and execution.
  • Work closely with management team to determine appropriate staffing levels for current needs while forecasting resources and skills needed in the future. Partner with Talent Acquisition team on recruitment and staffing efforts.
  • Perform skill gap analyses as appropriate, and initiate, develop and/or coordinate the implementation of specific training and development programs for management and staff within budget constraints.
  • Responsible for supporting development and engagement of company's leadership goals. Strong focus on continuous improvement and strategic resource planning for future operations.
  • Work with assigned corporate leaders to rollout critical HCM programs (performance management, leadership development, incentives, succession).
  • Identify and consult on HCM strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions.
  • Liaise between the Centers of Expertise, other HCM staff and assigned client groups to ensure consistency in policy interpretation and application.
  • Monitor and report on key talent metrics for assigned client groups.
  • Support engagement of the workforce for assigned client groups.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Support/facilitate organization change initiatives (via change management, organization design).
  • Forecast talent needs for assigned client groups and work with team to put in plans for each group.
  • Develop and implement diversity inclusion strategies with assigned leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADAAA, etc.) Coach managers and employees on requests for FMLA and ADA accommodations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May supervise others directly and indirectly based on division/function and HCM project leadership.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 20% - 50%
