The expected base salary range for this position is $106,830 to $166,000. This salary range may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location.

JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Product Marketing is accountable for the market success of one or more WCG product lines. This leader owns product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy, ensuring offerings are clearly differentiated, commercially effective, and aligned to buyer needs across the clinical trial ecosystem.

Operating as a strategic partner to Product Management and Sales, this role brings a growth-first mindset—continuously identifying opportunities to accelerate adoption, remove friction, and improve revenue performance. The Director leads PMMs and serves as a key lieutenant to the VP of Product Marketing.

Primary deliverables of the role:

  • WCG’s offerings are perceived as clear, differentiated, and aligned to customer problems.
  • Sales has dramatically stronger clarity and confidence in how to position and win with WCG solutions.
  • GTM motions accelerate bookings, reduce confusion in the field, and materially impact revenue growth.
  • Product, Sales and Marketing collaborate seamlessly, with Product Marketing acting as the connective tissue.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


Product & Market Strategy:

  • Actively identify growth opportunities and blockers within assigned product lines by working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to resolve positioning, packaging, competitive, or adoption issues that impact bookings and revenue.
  • Own market definition, segmentation, buyer personas, and problem statements using the Pragmatic Marketing framework.
  • Define and maintain differentiated positioning, messaging, and value propositions for assigned product lines.
  • Translate market and customer insights into actionable guidance for Product Management, influencing roadmap and prioritization.


Go-to-Market Leadership:

  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to lead GTM strategy and execution for launches, major enhancements, and portfolio initiatives.
  • Ensure consistent, high-impact product narratives across marketing campaigns, sales motions, and customer-facing materials.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to ensure clarity, confidence, and adoption of messaging in the field.

Growth & Business Impact:

  • Continuously identify and act on opportunities to grow revenue by working cross-functionally to remove barriers related to messaging, packaging, competitive positioning, pricing, or sales execution.
  • Analyze win/loss data, funnel performance, and competitive dynamics to recommend and drive corrective actions.
  • Serve as a commercial problem-solver, mobilizing stakeholders to address issues that impact bookings and expansion.


Team & Stakeholder Leadership:

  • Lead and develop product-line-aligned PMMs, setting clear priorities and high standards for output and impact.
  • Act as the primary product marketing voice for assigned product lines in executive and cross-functional forums.
  • Collaborate closely with Demand Gen, Content, Communications, and Customer teams to activate product strategies.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communication or related field required. Graduate degree in marketing, business administration, communication or a related field desired. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE/REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Pragmatic Marketing Certification preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 10–12+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Product Management, or related roles; prior people leadership required.
  • Proven success owning GTM for complex B2B products or services; clinical trials, life sciences, or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with the Pragmatic Marketing framework and market-driven product practices.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience influencing bookings, pipeline, and product adoption.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without authority.
    Strong executive communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Overall responsibility of management including direction, coordination, performance, and evaluation of the assigned team and staff. Responsibilities include training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising and addressing performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
