The expected base salary range for this position is $65,700 to $102,000. This salary range may vary based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, education, and geographic location. 

JOB SUMMARY: As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Business Partner aligns business objectives with employees and management in their designated operating unit(s).  This position will play a critical, strategic role on the HR team by providing thought leadership and direction to assigned internal client groups regarding the design, execution and measurement of people/ talent capability planning and development and optimization of HR programs and solutions. The HRBP will serve as the primary focal point for delivering HR programs and solutions to internal client groups and be an employee champion and change agent. This position will assess and anticipate HR-related needs and communicate these needs proactively to HR leadership and to the operating unit management to develop integrated solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Work with management in assigned client groups to develop talent to meet current and future business needs.
  • Provide top-quality coaching, customer service, and solutions in all areas of HR, including employee relations, talent management, rewards and leadership training.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Expertise (COE’s) to roll out critical HR programs (performance management, leadership development, incentives, succession planning, etc.) to assigned client groups.
  • Identify and consult on human resource strategies, programs, and/or processes in response to changing internal and external conditions.
  • Partner with HR COEs to provide strategic insight into the design and development of HR programs, tools and processes. 
  • Partner with internal client management to implement processes and programs to enable staff to achieve and exceed business targets. 
  • Liaise between HR COEs, other HRBPs and assigned client groups to ensure consistency in policy interpretation and application.
  • Monitor and report on key talent metrics for assigned client groups.
  • Analyze trends and metrics and collaborate with HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Manage/resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Support/facilitate organization change initiatives via change management, organization design, etc.
  • Forecast talent needs for assigned client groups and work with team to develop plans for each group.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies with assigned leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA,AA, etc.).  Coach managers and employees on employment laws and on requests for FMLA and ADA accommodations.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE/REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: SPHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, supporting or leading the design, development and execution of human resources strategies and tactics. 
  • Strong consultative, presentation, analytical and business communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to visualize and effectively convey a “big picture” view of strategic HR and how it fits with company business strategies.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, be flexible, work with interruptions, work in stressful situations, and shift priorities of work as needed.
  • Ability to plan and organize work effectively to meet established guidelines.
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (ADP a plus).
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of legislation and regulations that will impact the effective implementation of HR policies and practices.
  • Ability to work with close attention to detail and to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
