Expected annual base salary range: $124,600 to $152,000

GPS level: P4

JOB SUMMARY:  A Principal Biostatistician represents the face of WCG to the clients for which he or she works. The Principal Biostatistician independently performs tasks related both to statistical analyses and statistical programming. They will independently work on multiple projects.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: M.S. or equivalent degree in statistics, or related field, PhD preferred


  • At least six years of post-Master's experience in clinical trials.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills, SAS experience preferred. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.  Responsibilities may include:

  • Presenting interim trial data to DMCs.
  • Primary statistical contact on a project.
  • Writing statistical reports and memos. 
  • Leading sophisticated analyses, including efficacy and futility interim analyses for DMCs. 
  • Programming complex datasets.
  • Reviewing statements of work, proposals, and budgets.
  • Mentoring of lower-level employees.
  • Remaining abreast of current advances in biostatistics and software developments that may be required for WCG to meet its contractual obligations both effectively and efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
