JOB SUMMARY:  The Reports Data Analyst will be the SME for all reports that are created by the Data and Reporting Center of Excellence.  Of great importance, the Reports Data Analyst will need to become an expert regarding audit trail reports, including both the structure and the specific data content.  This includes how various data fields on the reports relate to one another, how the system populates the data fields and how the other fields are derived.  This role will be required to interact extensively with Director, Senior Director and Vice President levels in both the Technology and IT QA and Compliance teams for various reasons, including audits/inspections.  This role will also work with the business to gather requirements as part of the reports development process, ultimately creating specifications that can be used by the reports development teams.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar degree preferred, or a combination of education, skills and related experience. 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years in IT/Technology business and/or systems analysis.
  • Pharmaceutical and/or CRO industry experience a plus.
  • Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
  • Experience with SQL Server database.
  • Experience using SSRS Reporting Services a plus.
  • Experience using PowerBI a plus.
  • Ability to think analytically and adept at problem solving.
  • Experience working with offshore teams a plus.
  • Hands-on production support/troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service and interaction skills.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Evaluate the data reflected on reports, providing corrective actions should issues be identified.
  • Collect and analyze business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to the development team(s).
  • Provide suggestions to the development team during the development stage of the report to meet the client’s business needs.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents.
  • Communicate effectively with external clients and internal teams regarding the content of the reports, including participating on audits/inspections.
  • Coordinate with the operational groups who test, validate and evaluate new reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
