JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is responsible for transactional processing as well as general financial accounting and financial reporting. This position is responsible for ensuring appropriate accounting principles, practices and internal control procedures are applied in the accurate and timely preparation of financial records and statements. Meets tight deadlines for a multitude of accounting activities which may include; general ledger preparation, account reconciliations, business expense management, financial reporting, audit preparation and the support of tax, banking and other financial activities. The assignment of specific responsibilities will depend on business volumes and the overall workload of the team to be shared amongst the Senior Accountant and other team members.  The position will have contact with all employee levels across the company as well as external business partners who require strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance or related field from four-year College or university. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSE/REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPA required

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with Big 4 Accounting firm in Assurance or Technical Accounting Required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
  • Knowledge of accounting systems needed; previous experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Experience with any/all of Concur, BlackLine, ADP Workforce, and Adaptive Insights is a plus
  • Ability to understand operational systems and processes used in the operations and understand downstream impacts to financial statements
  • Ability to analyze financial data and assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to express oneself clearly, concisely, and tactfully while demonstrating the ability to work with all employees required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Responsible for maintenance and capitalization of Fixed Assets including quarterly Roll forwards
  • Responsible for Leases in accordance with ASC 842 including monthly and quarterly Roll forward
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations audit schedules, year-end tax schedules
  • Work with Director in implementing new Accounting Pronouncements
  • Work with Director preparing Quarterly Lender Financial Statements, Lender Script
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements and disclosures, in coordination with Director
  • Work with Director in drafting technical accounting white papers
  • Review risk and control maintenances and prepare recommendations for review
  • Thorough knowledge of sound accounting principles and their application to business transactions
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
  • Participate in and drive efficiencies in month-end accounting close processes across all business units
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all required financial reports
  • Collaborate with other shared services and business unit finance personnel to support overall department and Company goals and objectives
  • Analyze own work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Work with the external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
  • Coordinate system maintenance and implementations
  • Support special projects and workflow process improvements as directed by leadership
  • Prepare updates of SOPs for finance-related processes at least annually, in coordination with leadership
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here

Expected annual base salary range: $ 86,900 to $121,400
