Description and Requirements

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Senior Clinical Research (CR) Financial Administrator is responsible for managing a portfolio of contracts to ensure accurate and timely billing, collection, reconciliation, and reporting of the transactions related to the client agreements. Clients include physician investigators, research sites, hospitals and academic medical centers.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ Accounting experience (5 - 7 years preferred) 

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Energetic, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

  • Ability to think analytically with a talent for problem-solving.

  • Proficient in Excel & QuickBooks with a solid understanding of accounting systems and practices.

  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and planning skills to effectively meet aggressive deadlines.

  • Experience in a clinical research setting preferred.

  • Experience using Clinical Conductor, Study Manager, MERGE, OnCore, RealTime, DDOTs & Vellos CTMS systems a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Review clinical trial agreements for assigned clients to ensure correct billing.

  • Prepare monthly invoices based on patient activity and contractual milestones.

  • Contact client sites and/or sponsors as appropriate to clarify billing issues.

  • Apply payments received in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Daily reconciliation and balancing of work processed.

  • Collection correspondence and phone inquiries to pharmaceutical companies on outstanding client A/R.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports.

  • Work in Client’s CTMS & Accounting Systems as necessary.

  • Respond to client and sponsor inquiries regarding billing and payment issues.

  • Maintain customer files.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel up to 5% of the time.
