Description and Requirements

The Senior Project Manager, Global Language Services is responsible for overseeing the complex day-to-day translation project activities, and managing/mentoring Project Managers, Associate Project Managers and Project Specialists. The Senior Project Manager, Global Language Services will identify, initiate, and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and quality in eCOA implementation services and/or linguistic validation projects.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or 5 years related experience in a clinical, technology, or translations project management environment or the equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience to perform the job.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • At least five (5) years of demonstrated project management and translation/linguistic validation/eCOA implementation experience with a strong understanding of the project life cycle and the ability to manage and execute projects on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing cross functional teams of various disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people or workstreams across multiple programs or projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate effective communication, cooperation, respect, and teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent collaborative and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Ability to see the big picture as well as work hands-on. Ability to proactively recognize project challenges and implement effective action plans.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to utilize technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
  • Oversee the life cycle of large, complex translation/linguistic validation/eCOA implementation projects.
  • Manage the portfolio of work in the eCOA implementation and/or linguistic validation areas to meet department goals and strategic objectives.
  • Work with other internal departments (e.g., Technology Development, Project Teams, Science Advisors) to identify areas for process improvements and develop action plans
  • Initiate and develop process improvement that drive efficiencies to reduce project timelines and enhance quality.
  • Serve as resource/subject matter expert for internal teams regarding eCOA implementation and/or linguistic validation as well as the primary point of contact for escalation problems.
  • Participate in sponsor meetings and audits as required.
  • Identify and track KPIs as determined by the VP, Global Language Services.
  • Mentor and train supervisees.
  • Provide leadership for the assigned teams while partnering with Human Capital Management to motivate and develop talent and address development or performance issues to optimize business performance.
  • Provide updates on project activity to the VP and other departments as required.
  • Lead special projects, initiatives as identified by management.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Management of project team members. Supervise, train and mentor staff.
