SUMMARY OF POSITION:  
The Sr. Director, Product Management – Site and Patient Enablement will serve as the product owner for all products in our Site and Patient Engagement market offering.  Responsibilities include owning and defining platform requirements in coordination with key internal and external stakeholders, identifying, understanding, educating, and prioritizing features and functional releases for the platform and translating the requirements for product launch. Close collaboration with internal business units and technical teams will be crucial for success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Discover and validate market problems through:
  • Collaborating closely with internal product stakeholders for market facing product offerings.
  • Reviewing industry guidelines, specifications and regulations on an ongoing basis.
  • Interacting with users/buyers of the platform to collect and synthesize product inputs.
  • Meeting with current and potential customers to understand the customer voice.
  • Identifying industry disruptions that are driving spending in the clinical market space.
  • Deeply understand customer needs and user centric design to define internal and external customer requirements.
  • Lead and mentor team of Business Analysts.
  • Optimize trade-off decisions during the development process.
  • Under the direction of the VP Product Management and Strategy, provide oversight to strategy, technical, and marketing aspects of the enterprise platform.
  • Oversee the implementation of core product projects and all financial accountability for performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate product vision, positioning, value proposition, buyer/user personas, competitive information, and roadmaps for individual products within a product line.
  • Develop, own and maintain roadmap and product vision to gain stakeholder consensus and approval of product initiatives.
  • Own the overall scoping of projects in conjunction with setting and managing expectations of the divisional business leadership and Engineering and Data teams. 
  • Contribute to the preparation of statements of work, RFI responses, and marketing collateral.
  • Deliver presentations/demonstrations at customer sites, trade shows, and via web conference.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis or Software Engineering role selling directly to sponsors for services defining and choosing optimal sites to run a clinical trial, working with marketing or online publishing or working with a patient advocacy or advisory committee, with at least 3 years of experience in healthcare technology or big data.  
  • Functional understanding of the broader clinical research process, clinical operations, and/or multiple clinical software systems (e.g. for clinical site support, patient engagement, safety, regulatory review, etc.) including the process and requirements for identifying, recruiting, educating about the clinical research process and marketing to patients.
  • Experience working at a large site conducting interventional trials a plus.
  • Commercial software delivery experience in a 21 CFR Part 11 validated environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to make rapid and complex decisions that optimize across multiple, and at times, competing objectives.
  • Results orientation, team player and holding self and others accountable for achieving results for customers and the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate and influence at the team level in a complex, matrixed environment with the ability to develop product strategies and execute across multiple sets of customers, internal stakeholders and products.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical matters to technical and non-technical individuals, and to all levels of management.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Team oversight responsibility including:
  • Planning, assigning and directing work, training and developing employees, managing and evaluating performance, addressing staff issues.

EXPECTED ANNUAL BASE SALARY: $113,940 to $177,000
GPS LEVEL: M3
