Description and Requirements

Staff Accountant needed for the Corporate Finance department in the Princeton location of WCG, the world’s leading provider of solutions that measurably improve the quality and efficiency of clinical research. The Staff Accountant will primarily be responsible for all accounts payable and other general accounting activities for the Corporate Finance department, as well as providing support to WCG subsidiaries as needed. 


  • Complete Accounts Payable function including but not limited to:
    • Routing of invoices for proper approval, invoice entry, payment processing
    • Reviewing subsidiary AP activity to ensure proper coding and approval 
  • Manage corporate credit card function including matching credit card charges to approved credit card request forms and coding credit card line item detail appropriate account codes, departments, and projects
  • Assist with Cash function
    • Process daily cash transactions
  • Responsible for Fixed Assets Module, depreciation entries and monthly fixed asset reconciliation
  • Assist with month end close
    • Perform expense variance analysis to drive journal entries including accruals and recurring journal entries
    • Manage Prepaid expense module, amortization entries and expense forecast
    • Post payroll journal entries and accrual
  • Complete ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Assist and support special projects and workflow process improvement initiatives

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from a four-year college or university
  • A CPA is a plus, but not required

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • 2+ years’ of professional experience in accounting/finance department
  • Combination of public and private accounting a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite a plus
  • Highly proficient in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas etc.) and MS Office
  • Detail oriented with efficient and highly accurate data entry skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of team
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks at one time; ability to meet strict timelines
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills and comfortable interacting with all levels of employees
