SUMMARY OF POSITION:  
The Vice President Project Management is a member of the Senior Leadership team and is responsible for oversight of the company(s) Project Management ensuring the integrity and quality of the delivery.   The VPPM is directly responsible coordinating work across the project management group.  This role will support the business development and clinical science work, to ensure business growth.  The VPPM is responsible for integrating, further developing and expanding Project Management within their scope of responsibility, to deliver a streamlined, effective and client-centered approach to service.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, in a relevant field.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 15 years of work experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, CRO, or related environment with increasing responsibility.
  • At least 10 years in a management role required.
  • Proven track record in building internal capability.
  • Proven track record of driving and supporting business growth.
  • Ability to think strategically at the executive level, implement change, incorporate innovation and implement strategies throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional team leadership skills to include the ability to effectively mentor, motivate and empower team members.
  • Elevated level of customer interaction skills and the ability to build and sustain trusted relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strength in analysis, critical decision making and process improvement.
  • Experience working in a range of settings from large pharma/CRO to start-ups preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational, interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from a variety of disciplinary, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.

  • Integrate multiple modular services into a seamless delivery experience from the client perspective.
  • Further developing and refining existing processes to ensure sustainable growth of the company.
  • Directly work with the Business Development and Clinical Science team to engage our customers and support the business growth.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Clinical Science and other internal teams to align internal capacities and align capabilities to market demands, presenting unified integrated services.
  • Proactively assessing and mitigating risks to service quality.
  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders (investigative sites in addition to clients) to ensure effective delivery of services.
  • Promoting interdepartmental collaboration to provide high-quality and innovative solutions
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure timely and effective client issues resolution.
  • Manage and lead a team, including development, mentoring, motivating and empowering team members.
  • Contribute at the Senior Leadership Team level in overall strategic direction of the company and the role of service delivery in maintaining the company’s competitive advantage and differentiation.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will require the individual to be responsible for the management, direction, coordination, performance, and evaluation of an assigned team and staff. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to travel domestic and internally, approximately 25% of the time, including overnight stays as necessary, consistent with business needs and office location.  This may require evening and weekend travel.
