JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting into the Chief Applications Officer (CAO), the Vice President, Technology Integration and Architecture will be responsible for the technology integration strategy and the architectural guidelines for our portfolio of applications for both internal and customer facing products as well as the implementation and execution of the Technology Integration playbook relating to Application Development for new company acquisitions. The VP, Technology Integration and Architecture will be engaged in the early stage of technical due diligence for potential targets, playing a key cross-functional role within the organization in assessing the state of the target assets, and will plan and oversee the technical integration of the product development function into the WCG portfolio after acquisition. This role will also oversee the design and execution of our ambitious application integration plans.
The VP, Technology Integration and Architecture will also lead the Technology Solutions group to provide insight and guidance for all WCG applications, development efforts and scientific advancement. The scope of the guidance will include software, database, UX/UI and security architecture, with an eye to identify and lead the development of common components that can be used across the WCG ecosystem.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, science-related field, or equivalent work experience

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum of 15 years overall professional experience in program/product management and technology strategy in roles with increasing responsibility leading complex solution delivery to the market with high demand product
-Must have a functional understanding of the clinical research process, clinical operations, and/or multiple clinical systems and solutions
-Experience architecting solutions (software, data, UX/UI, security, etc.) in the life sciences and clinical areas both at the enterprise level and point solutions levels
-Significant experience in technology leadership supporting both commercial software delivery and implementation
-Exceptional team leadership skills to include the ability to effectively mentor, motivate and empower team members
-Significant experience managing relationships with both internal and external customers of a technology organization
-Experience with functional and technical software, not just informational
-Must be an expert communicator (written and oral) of technical matters to technical and non-technical individuals, and to all levels of management
-Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
-Strong aptitude for conceptual thinking, project management, and business awareness
-Commercial software development/delivery experience in a 21 CFR Part 11 validated environment a plus
-Able to identify, absorb, and apply new concepts and technologies necessary to solve problems
-Able to manage competing stakeholder interests through to establishing solutions that meet prioritized market needs for software product(s)
-Ability to analyze and interpret data, draw insights and prepare reports in a cohesive, intuitive and simplistic manner, adapting to the audience and business needs
-Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
-Lead the technology due diligence of potential acquisition targets. Define and execute due diligence plans and activities and deliver recommendations to stakeholders.
-Establish and maintain technology standards and guidelines for the integration of new WCG businesses as well as the technology integration of existing portfolio companies.
-Work with the CAO to define and implement a technology integration framework allowing assessment of new acquisitions and partners and integration of their solutions as part of the product portfolio.
-Define and maintain the integration playbook to be applied to acquisitions.
-Define integration plans and budgets and lead the execution of integration activities for newly acquired businesses collaborating with other WCG organizations as needed.
-Collaborate across organizations to develop new capabilities in products and services through technology interoperability, to increase both internal and external customer value.
-Partner with the CAO to define and run strategic technology initiatives across all WCG divisions aiming to develop the integrated technology platform.
-Work with the CAO to improve our product life cycle process and institutionalize integration and interoperability as part of our design criteria.
-Define and report on business facing key performance indicators and metrics.
-Work across the technology organization to coordinate the various activities related to integration of both new companies and existing applications.
-Develop a relationship with internal and external stake holders in support of a technology enabled service model.
-Provides thought leadership and management to help develop/improve all WCG applications into class-leading and innovative products by providing overarching architecture guidance, analysis and resources.
-Plans and directs product-level and WCG-level analysis and reporting activities.
-Ensures team members remain current on new, pertinent technologies and technical approaches.
-Drives operational excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across all team members.
-Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Lead and mentor teams of highly skilled technical professionals
-Support needs for staffing, resource and project planning, deliverable management, training, performance management and career development
-Manage operating budget and revenue parameters by effectively forecasting work, assigning resources, and reviewing and approving monthly invoices from strategic partners; identify areas of efficiency in resource utilization.
