Description and Requirements

The eCOA Associate will be an integral contributor to the success of the eCOA team. This role is responsible for supporting Virgil platform solutions to drive major advances in clinical research. The eCOA Associate will also support and scale the eCOA business unit through documentation management, status and metrics tracking, development of client-facing presentations and collateral, and  seamless management of the lifecycle of eCOA team tasks.

  • Bachelor’s degree  


  • Minimum  1 to 2 years' experience in clinical trial or research setting or other clinical setting required. 
  • Proven ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Strong record of problem solving/decision making skills. 
  • Familiarity with reviewing protocols and identifying key reference areas while working in various studies. 
  • Knowledge of GCP.  
  • Collaborative, flexible and independent self-starter with a ‘gets it done’ approach utilizing the relevant  individual’s skill sets whilst always considering team potential.  
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position. 
  • Ability to multi-process, including analytical skills with a solution-based approach, driving key business initiatives to conclusion followed by process/initiative adoption. 
  • Ability to utilize software tools (e.g. JIRA/Salesforce/MS Teams) to monitor deliverable progress. 
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Adobe and 
  • MS Project and the ability to produce detailed reports and presentations using these tools. 
  • Must have patience and tolerance when working with ambiguity and processes/systems which are still under development with a willingness to be involved in operational detail to achieve. 



  • In collaboration with other team members, but with minimal oversight, draft Virgil Study Configuration documents for both eCOA and Virgil University platform. 
  • Updating Virgil Configuration specification documentation as a result of protocol amendments, change in scope, update to specification template, addition of new countries/languages or other scope changes as needed. 
  • Assist in the development of client-facing slides for Kick-Off Meetings and capabilities presentations. 
  • Responsible for all study-specific eCOA documentation management.  
  • Accountable for the compiling of audit-related eCOA documentation.  
  • When needed, provide configuration support for updates, change orders, etc. to studies in maintenance. 
  • Develop expertise in JIRA (study management tracking); develop and maintain new form and study tasks within JIRA; review JIRA tasks for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Maintain eCOA team calendar for coordination of Virgil demonstrations, triage coverage, and platform updates. 
  • Support resolution of Tier One and Two eCOA help desk tickets, change controls and other IT requests as needed. 
  • Support both study-level and platform UAT preparation activities. 
  • When needed, timely communication to any relevant stakeholders of risk of milestone delays that will impact study configuration process in any way. 
  • Support tracking eCOA team metrics, and preparation of aggregated reports and/or dashboards.  
  • Assist with new study triage/strategy activities as needed.
